Hey folks! I’m Judith Sullivan, editor of Eclectic Mothering. I’m the mother of two little boys and the wife of a wonderful man I’ve known since childhood.
I used to think I new exactly how to go about this mothering thing. I figured I’d just do what my mom did, because she was so awesome–she was a stay-at-home, work-at-home, homeschooling, breastfeeding until whenever, cosleeping mega mom who also knew how to look awesome while juggling those four kids. What’s not to imitate?
Just like Paul told the Phillippian church–you’ve got to work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. It wasn’t working out for me to copy another mom, not even my own. Ever since, I’ve been improvising my way through raising my first child, born in February of 2010, and my second child, born in March 2012.
My first goal is to develop independent little humans in love and affection. My next goal to complete the first goal without martyring myself or my marriage so that we can all live together in a happy, fulfilled home, by whatever means necessary. That includes elimination communication, baby wearing, using a pacifier (gasp!) and co-sleeping. Whatever it takes, baby!
